This morning I came across an old post where I riffed with sales legend Jill Konrath.
We decided to have a little fun and write out some sales limericks.
Here they are. WARNING: You may need a stiff drink after... :)
SELL HIGH
There is a terrible sales secret
Top sales people are determined to keep it
That if you prospect and sell low
Sales will be slow
And you’ll struggle to make quota or beat it
YOUR CUSTOMERS PERSONAL WIN
If you’re in sales it’s an absolute sin
To not uncover your customer’s personal win
Uncovering pain and gain are all very nice
But your competitor will do the same in a thrice
So discover their emotion and give you both a big grin!
PROPOSING TOO LOW
Too many opportunities ending in “no”
That’s because you’re selling to mid level buyers vested in status quo
Want to set your sales on fire
Then learn how to sell higher
And you’ll be Presidents Club before you know
So, I guess I won't give up the day job then.
Speaking of which, my business has switched to REMOTE advisory, mentoring and coaching.
Need some help getting the attention and time of senior decision makers - or ideas to unstick deals and get them to win faster?
What about writing more effective proposals? Or more effective presentations?
Or advice on how to accelerate new go-to-market initiatives? Sales territory planning? Compensation? Personnel issues? PR issues?
You get my point. There's 30 years of leadership, strategy, prospecting, sales (and life) advice here if you need it.
Let me know what you could use some support with. Ping me a note in reply.
